Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

In a large, heavy bottom saucepan, melt butter, then add granulated sugar and continue to cook until sugar dissolves.

Remove from the heat and mix in the salt, cocoa powder, baking powder, vanilla essence and Coffee thoroughly.

Whisk in the eggs and then the flour until batter is smooth.

Pour the brownie batter into a lightly greased (13 x 9) baking pan.

Sprinkle top with chocolate chips and bake for 18-20 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean when inserted in the centre.

Cool completely before cutting into squares.
