Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Chicken (any parts you like, cut into pieces)
  • 1/4 Cup Green Seasoning
  • 1 Packet Maggi® Season-Up! Chicken Powdered Seasoning (10g)
  • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1.5 Pounds Pumpkin (diced)
  • 1 Pound Carrots (diced)
  • 2 Units Onion (minced)
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic (minced)
  • 2 Tablespoons Pimento/ Seasoning Peppers (minced)
  • 1 Cube Maggi® Chicken Flavoured Seasoning Cube
  • 4 Cups Hot Water
  • 1.5 Pounds Mixed Provisions (dasheen, eddoes, sweet potatoes, potatoes etc.)
  • 1 Packet Maggi® Soup it up! Jamaica Cock Soup Mix with Pumpkin (50g)

Instructions

    1. In a bowl, season chicken pieces with green seasoning and MAGGI® Season Up Chicken. Allow to marinate for 20 minutes. Set aside.

    2. In a heavy iron pot, heat vegetable oil and sear chicken pieces until all sides are golden brown. Remove from the pot and set aside.

    3. Add pumpkin, carrots, onions, garlic, pimentos and sauté for 1 minute. Add hot water and MAGGI® Chicken Cube and allow to simmer until all vegetables are soft.

    4. Remove from heat and blend the ingredients in the pot with an immersion blender until it is smooth.

    5. Add chicken parts, mixed provisions and MAGGI® Soup it Up Jamaican Cock Soup with Pumpkin and simmer for an additional 10 minutes or until mixed provisions have cooked.

    6. Serve immediately
