Ingredients

  • 2 Cans Black Beans or Red Beans, drained and rinsed (any beans will do approximately 15oz per can)
  • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Small Onion (finely diced)
  • 1 Small Sweet Pepper (finely diced)
  • 3 Units Garlic (minced)
  • 1 Packet MAGGI® Season-Up All Purpose Powdered Seasoning (or 2 teaspoons, if using the shaker)
  • 2 Units Eggs (slightly beaten)
  • 1/2 Cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Barbecue Sauce (or Ketchup)
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Geera

Instructions

  • 1.Preheat oven to 350F/180C and spread black beans on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes until beans start to slightly dry. Place beans into a large bowl.
  • 2.In medium pan, add vegetable oil and sauté onions and peppers and garlic until soft, then add to bowl with beans
  • 3.Add Maggi Season Up All Purpose, eggs, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup/bbq, geera to bowl. Use potato masher to breakdown mixture while leaving a few larger beans.
  • 4.Using 1/3 measuring cup or your hands to form patties and bake on tray at 375F/190C for 10 minutes on each side. Or cook in a greased frying pan until golden on each side.
  • 5.Serve on a warm bun with toppings and condiments of choice.
