Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Raisins (Or Sultanas)
  • 3 Cups Water
  • 8 Ounces Vermicelli
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Cardamom Powder (Elychee)
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract (or Vanilla Essence)
  • 5 cups CARNATION® Full Cream Evaporated Milk
  • 1 can NESTLÉ® Sweetened Condensed Milk (395g)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 Cup Slivered Almonds
  • 1/4 Cup Maraschino Cherries
  • 1/4 Cup Pistachios

Instructions

  • 1.  In a small bowl. Place raisins/sultanas in 1 cup water to soak. Set aside
  • 2.  Add vermicelli to iron pot on low heat. Toss constantly until vermicelli starts to turn brown
  • 3.  Add cinnamon and cardamom to vermicelli and continue toasting until spices become aromatic and vermicelli turns brown. Stir constantly.
  • 4.  Add remaining 2 cups of water and vanilla extract/essence, and allow everything to simmer for 8 mins until most water is absorbed
  • 5.  Add Carnation Full Cream Evaporated Milk, Nestle Sweetened Condensed Milk and salt and allow to simmer for 10 mins
  • 6.  Add strained raisins/sultanas, almonds and cherries. Stir well
  • 7.  Place in bowls and top with chopped pistachios. Can be eaten hot or refrigerated for a cool snack
