Ham and Pineapple Penne Alfredo

A festive take on a classic Alfredo utilizing smoked ham, and the juicy pineapples.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Ham, Sliced, Pre-Packaged, Deli Meat (96%Fat Free, Water Added) Cut into dices
  • 1 Pound Pasta Cooked
  • 1/2 Cup Pineapple Chunks
  • 12 ounces CARNATION® Full Cream Evaporated Milk
  • 2 Teaspoons Garlic Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 Cup Onion Julienned
  • 7.5 Grams All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter Room Temperature
  • 1/4 Cup Cheese, Parmesan, Grated

Instructions

  • 1.  In a sauté pan melt 1 tbsp. butter sauté ham over medium heat for 4 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • 2.  In a saucepan over medium heat remaining butter, sauté onions and garlic with butter for approximately 20 seconds. Stir in flour to make a paste.
  • 3.  Using a whisk carefully incorporate CARNATION EVAPORATED FULL CREAM MILK. When mixture begins to thicken lower heat. Season sauce with MAGGI NATURISIMO.
  • 4.  Add cooked penne pasta and pineapples to sauce, remove from heat. Toss in ham and parmesan cheese.
