Bacon and Cheddar Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 cup CARNATION® Full Cream Evaporated Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Vinegar
  • 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter (melted)
  • 2 Cups Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 Cup Cooked Bacon (crumbled)
  • 1/4 Cup Chive (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter (melted)
  • 1 Tablespoon Parsley (finely chopped)

Instructions

  • 1.  To make buttermilk:- mix Evaporated Milk and vinegar, set aside
  • 2.  In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, baking powder, garlic powder and cayenne pepper.
  • 3.  Then add buttermilk and ½ cup melted butter to flour mixture and stir gently to form a sticky dough.
  • 4.  Fold in the cheese, bacon, chive and sour cream using a spatula to incorporate.
  • 5.  Using an ice cream scoop, drop scoops of the dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake biscuits in a preheated oven at 450°F (230°C) for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
  • 6.  Remove from oven and brush with remaining butter and sprinkle with parsley.
