Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup CARNATION® Full Cream Evaporated Milk
  • 1 Pack Yeast
  • 3 1/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Cup Honey
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Walnuts (chopped)

Instructions

To prepare the donuts:

  • 1.  In an electric stand mixer, add water and yeast, stir with a fork and leave to rest for 5 minutes until the yeast dissolves. Into the same bowl, add Evaporated Milk, flour, brown sugar, salt and olive oil (for about 2 minutes) until the mixture becomes a smooth batter.
  • 2.  Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and let the dough rest in a warm place for at least 1 hour to rise.
  • 3.  Into a medium sized frying pan add vegetable oil to deep fry the donuts. Heat the oil at high heat. Test if the oil is hot enough by dipping in some of the dough for the donuts. If it sizzles the oil is ready.
  • 4.  Dip a tablespoon in some water and spoon out some of the dough into the hot oil. Repeat this procedure until the surface off the pan is comfortably filled. You should dip the spoon in the water every time, so that the batter doesn't stick on it.
  • 5.  While the donuts are frying, use a slotted spoon to push them into the oil and turn them on all sides. Fry until golden brown. Place on paper towel to drain. Repeat with the rest of dough.
  • 6.  When frying is completed, place the donuts on a large platter, drizzle with the honey and sprinkle with cinnamon and chopped walnuts
