Ingredients

  • 4 Cups NESQUIK® Chocolate Flavoured Cereal 330g Box (crushed)
  • 1/2 Cup Butter (melted)
  • 1 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Cornstarch
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
  • 3 cups CARNATION® Full Cream Evaporated Milk
  • 4 Units Egg Yolk
  • 5 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract (or Vanilla essence)
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 Cup Whipped Cream

Instructions

For Crust

  • 1.  Combine crushed cereal with ½ cup melted butter and press into the bottom and sides of a pie dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 350° (180°C) for 10 minutes, then allow to cool completely.

For Filling

  • 2.  In a medium heavy bottom saucepan, combine thoroughly the sugar, cornstarch and salt. Then add the Evaporated Milk, egg yolks and cocoa powder and whisk to incorporate.
  • 3.  Constantly stirring over medium heat until the mixture thickens into a pudding consistency.
  • 4.  Remove from heat and mix in the vanilla essence and butter.
  • 5.  Pour mixture into the cooled pie crust and place in the refrigerator for a few hours to set (for best results make this pie the night before).
  • 6.  Top with whipped cream before serving.
