Ingredients

  • 10 Pounds Turkey (10-12 lbs)
  • 10 Packs Maggi® Season-up! CHICKEN POWDERED SEASONING
  • 3 Tablespoons Garlic (minced)
  • 3 Tablespoons Green Seasoning
  • 1/4 Cup Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Celery (finely chopped)
  • 2 Tablespoons Parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 Can Mushrooms (drained)
  • 1 Small Sweet Pepper (or 3 Pimento/Seasoning Peppers, finely chopped)
  • 1 large Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 Cup Turkey Giblets (chopped)
  • 2 Cups Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Teaspoon MAGGI® Flavour D' Pot Chicken (Or 1 MAGGI® Chicken Cube, dissolved in 2 cups of water)

Instructions

  • 1.  Rinse turkey inside and out. Pat dry. Season turkey with Season Up and green seasoning. Leave to marinate in refrigerator while stuffing is prepared.
  • 2.  Using butter, saute the next 6 ingredients for 5 minutes.
  • 3.  Add breadcrumbs and stir.
  • 4.  Add enough chicken broth to moisten stuffing, tossing lightly to mix thoroughly. Spoon stuffing into the body cavity of the turkey.
  • 5.  Pull neck skin down to the back and fasten with toothpick.
  • 6.  Tuck legs under band of skin, or tie to tail with string and twist wing tips under the back
  • 7.  Place any remaining stuffing in a buttered casserole dish to be baked alongside turkey for approx. 30 minutes.
  • 8.  Place turkey breast side up in a roasting pan. Brush with butter and insert meat thermometer into center of an inner thigh muscle. The thermometer should not touch the bone
  • 9.  Cover turkey loosely with foil. Roast turkey in preheated oven at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) for 3 - 3 1/2 hours or until thermometer registers 180 -185 degrees F
  • 10.  After 2 1/2 hours remove string from drumstick to allow even cooking in the thighs. Uncover turkey for last 1/2 hour of roasting.
  • 11.  Remove turkey from oven, cover and let rest for 20 minutes before carving
