Saltfish Pie

  • ½ lb dried codfish, boiled and flaked
  • 1 cup sweet peppers, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup tomato, chopped
  • 2 MAGGI Garlic Onion Bouillon Cubes
  • 3 tbsps. olive oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tbsps. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup CARNATION Evaporated Milk


  1. Sauté all the ingredients for filling in Olive oil for five minutes, set aside.

  2. Combine all the ingredients for the dough until it is soft and does not stick in your hands.

  3. Divide the dough in two halves and roll it out on a floured surface.

  4. Cover a round greased baking pan with one-half and fill it with the codfish, cover the pan with the rest of the dough.

  5. Moisten the borders of the dough with water for sticking them together.

  6. Decorate the surface with a knife and brush with egg wash.

  7. Bake in preheated oven at 350°F (180˚C) for 40 minutes.

  8. Remove from the oven, set it aside to cool and serve.


Saltfish Pie: This recipe could be made into mini pies as well.
