Orange Guava Tea Loaf

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups All purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • ¼ tsp each Ground all spice & nutmeg
  • ¼ cup Chopped walnuts
  • ¾ cup CARNATION Full Cream Evaporated Milk
  • 1 tbsp White vinegar
  • ½ cup Granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup Vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup Marmalade
  • ½ tbsp. Orange zest
  • 2 lg Eggs
  • 4 ozs. Guava cheese, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup Icing sugar
  • ½ tbsp ORCHARD Orange Juice
  • Chopped nuts of choice to garnish

Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

    2. In a medium bowl, mix flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, all spice, nutmeg and walnuts.

    3. In another bowl combine, Evaporated milk and vinegar. Stir and leave for 2 minutes before adding sugar, oil, marmalade, orange zest and eggs.

    4. Spoon half of the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan. Place guava cheese slices on top of batter and cover with remaining batter.

    5. Bake for 40 -45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in centre comes out clean

    6. Remove from oven and cool for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

    7. Mix icing sugar and Orange Juice to form a smooth paste. Drizzle over loaf and garnish with nuts.
