Jamaica Rice and Peas

  • 1 cup Dried red kidney peas
  • 4 cups Warm water
  • 2/3 cup Maggi Coconut Milk Powder (dissolved in 1 cup warm water)
  • 1 Scotch bonnet (hot) pepper
  • 2 stalks Escallion (chive)
  • 2 sprigs Fresh thyme
  • 2 Maggi Garlic Onion Bouillon Cubes
  • 2 cups rice


  1. Wash peas. Add dissolved Coconut Milk Powder and cook until tender

  2. When peas are cooked, add pepper, escallion, thyme and Bouillon Cubes

  3. Add rice and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and cook on a low flame until rice is cooked.

  4. Remove from heat and serve.
