Caramelised Apples

Apples are one of the most popular fruits, and one of the most widely available throughout the year. Baking them in the oven releases the sugars from the fruit to create a delicious, nutritious dish. The fruit is also one of the richest in pectins, a soluble kind of fibre. This
recipe works perfectly in combination with the latte macchiato varieties – an enjoyable fruit and dairy snack..

  • 2 Units Apples Large
  • 150 Grams Sugar
  • 1/8 Liter Water
  • 50 Grams Icing Sugar


  1. Wash and peel the apples. Scoop out several balls of apple flesh
    using a melon baller.

  2. Coat the balls of apple with icing sugar and thread them onto a skewer.

  3. Mix the sugar and the water in a small saucepan. Simmer on medium heat for 15 minutes until the mixture turns a caramel colour.

  4. Dip the coated apples into the caramel mixture until they are
    completely covered.

  5. Remove and leave to cool on baking paper for five minutes.
