Provision Au Gratin

Ingredients

  • 2 tsps. Butter
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 1 tsp. Minced garlic
  • 2 tsps. Chopped pimento / sweet peppers (optional)
  • 2 tsps. Chopped parsley
  • 2 tbsps. Flour
  • 1 tin (410 g) CARNATION Evaporated Milk
  • 1 pk. MAGGI Season Up All Purpose
  • 2 lbs. Desired provisions eg. Dasheen, eddoes, cassava, sweet potatoes (boiled, peeled and sliced)
  • ½ cup Grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Sauté onion, garlic, pimento peppers and parsley in butter for 2 minutes.

  2. Add flour and mix. Cook for 3 minutes. Add Evaporated Milk and Season Up.

  3. Stir constantly. Cook until sauce thickens.

  4. In a buttered casserole dish, spread cooked provisions and pour sauce over.

  5. Sprinkle grated cheese on top

  6. Bake in preheated oven at 350°F for 10 minutes or until golden brown
